About Aurore Commodities

Tanker vessels at sea

Our Story

"Aurore" is the French word for dawn, the first light that breaks through darkness. It reflects our commitment to transparency, clarity of purpose and the energy that powers global commerce.

Founded with a singular purpose, Aurore Commodities supplies international buyers with crude oil and refined petroleum products through well-structured, commercially sound transactions. We are a principal trading company that takes title to the products we sell, bearing the commercial risk and delivering the accountability our clients expect.

Headquartered in the Cayman Islands, we operate across multiple continents and jurisdictions. Every transaction is governed by international trade law, supported by established banking relationships, and executed with the highest standards of contractual rigour, compliance and counterparty diligence.

Our mission: to be the trusted supplier of choice for petroleum products in international markets, delivering consistent quality, competitive pricing and operational excellence with integrity at the core of every transaction.

Leadership & Expertise

Our team brings backgrounds in structured finance, capital markets, investment management and international business development.

Managing Director

Mike Cooper

Mike Cooper has spent over three decades building and leading large-scale commercial operations across international markets. His career has been defined by one consistent discipline: entering complex, regulated industries, constructing the institutional frameworks required to operate within them at scale, and growing those operations to significance across multiple jurisdictions.

Over the course of his career, Mike has built businesses with operations spanning five countries, workforces exceeding 400 people, and capital structures supported by major institutional banking partners including Barclays Bank. The organisations he has led have managed in excess of £200 million in client funds, operated under stringent regulatory oversight across multiple national frameworks, and reached valuations in excess of £150 million. His experience encompasses the full range of commercial disciplines that matter in principal trading: banking relationships, cross-border contractual structures, regulatory compliance, counterparty management and the operational infrastructure required to execute at institutional scale.

At Aurore Commodities, Mike brings that accumulated institutional capability directly to bear on international petroleum trading, building the relationships, frameworks and operational standards that serious counterparties expect from a principal trading company.
